Hello, I'm Russell NielseN

I am the founder and CEO of Next Big Thing Publishing (NBT). My passion for creating stories and games led me to found NBT as a space to monetize and share my hobbies and creations with the world. My passions include writing (blogs, novels, short stories, and soon children’s books) as well as designing, building, and playtesting board games.

This journey is a result of multiple attempts at building a brand around my passions. As I build this publishing house, I'm taking a multifaceted approach, which includes a Twitch streaming channel, a YouTube channel, and a podcast, while also blogging about my experiences, wins, and losses.

Our Vision & Goals

By the end of the first year, my goal is to have published 1-2 of my own ongoing projects under the NBT brand. I'm building up enough content to establish myself as an expert in the arts of board game creation and writing.

Over the next 1-3 years, I plan to expand our services, offering consulting and a series of online courses to assist other independent authors and designers in their publishing journeys.

Ultimately, my 3-5 year goal is to share what I've learned in the publishing field and begin publishing the projects of other designers and authors under the Next Big Thing Publishing brand.
